IntroductionStudents and Parents,
Welcome to the virtual classroom for Mr. Jura's (aka. Mr. J's) English I and Reading courses for the 2017/18 school year. I am very excited to welcome you (and yours) to Warren Easton Charter High School this academic term. You can find out more about me here, but this page on the website will always be all about you and your learning. Check in here often as it is constantly updated. Remember to register for the REMIND service to be updated on due dates, enrichment opportunities (field trips; scholarships; and contests), and to remain up to date on classroom materials or necessary review/remediation. Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury
Utopian / Dystopian Fiction
Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel by American writer Ray Bradbury, published in 1953. It is regarded as one of his best works. The novel presents a future American society where books are outlawed and "firemen" burn any that are found.
